GCP – Build and scale faster with new Blockchain RPC Service built on Google infrastructure
Building on our commitment to support Web3 developers, Google Cloud today announced the launch of our new Blockchain RPC (Remote Procedure Call) service. This new service provides developers with a streamlined way to interact with blockchain data, offering a cost-effective, scalable, and reliable solution that minimizes the complexities of managing node infrastructure.
RPC reliability is a significant challenge for Web3 developers, as it can impact the performance and availability of their applications. Many developers currently rely on multiple RPC providers to ensure their applications stay up and running. With Google Cloud’s Blockchain RPC service, we’re bringing our expertise in operating large-scale infrastructure to the Web3 ecosystem, offering a robust backbone for decentralized applications.
The Blockchain RPC service caters to developers at a wide range of organizations, from startups seeking a quick and easy entry point to the blockchain, to large enterprises that require the reliability, security, and performance of Google Cloud’s infrastructure.
Blockchain RPC is launching with our free tier that offers up to 100 requests per second, enabling developers to build real-time and data-intensive applications. The service also launches with support for Ethereum mainnet and testnets, expanding to several additional chains over the next year.
Blockchain RPC is fully compatible with the Ethereum JSON-RPC standard, allowing developers to integrate it into their applications with a single line of code.
“Google Cloud’s Blockchain RPC offerings deliver fast response times — exactly what you’d expect from them,” said Kyle Quintal, Head of Engineering at 0xArc. “Coupled with the fact that Google Cloud follows the EIP1474 standards and has the free-tier option, we integrated its service into our system right away and haven’t looked back.”
The key features of Google Cloud’s Blockchain RPC service include:
Enterprise-grade reliability: The service leverages Google Cloud infrastructure to provide security and reliability, helping to ensure a dependable foundation for developers’ applications.
Cost-effectiveness: Blockchain RPC offers an economical alternative to dedicated nodes, providing up to 100 requests per second and 1 million requests per day in the free tier.
Compatibility: Developers can easily transition from existing RPC providers by simply changing their RPC endpoints.
Scalability: The service scales to handle growing request volumes, eliminating the need for manual scaling.
The Blockchain RPC service is now globally available in preview, empowering developers worldwide to build the next generation of Web3 applications. To explore the service and embark on your Web3 journey, visit the recently launched Web3 Portal.
