AWS – Amazon ElastiCache announces support for resource-based permission policies
Amazon ElastiCache now allows you to assign permissions to specific resources in IAM policies. You can now assign AWS account root user or an IAM user permissions to specific ElastiCache resource or resources. Prior to this release, Amazon ElastiCache only supported identity-based policies. Identity-based policies control access to all ElastiCache resources and can’t distinguish between specific entities such as AWS regions. With this release you can, for example, allow administrators in your organization to create production ElastiCache clusters and restrict another users’ ability to modify them. This provides you with the flexibility to meet your enterprise security and compliance standards.
