AWS – AWS Application Discovery Services now supports IPv6 endpoints
AWS Application Discovery Service (ADS) customers can now use Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) addresses, via our new dual-stack domains, while discovering on-premises server inventory as part of a cloud migration. The existing ADS endpoints supporting IPv4 will remain for backwards compatibility.
The continued growth of the Internet, particularly in the areas of mobile applications, connected devices, and IoT, has spurred an industry-wide move to IPv6. IPv6 increases the number of available addresses by several orders of magnitude so customers will no longer need to manage overlapping address spaces in their VPCs.
The new dual-stack domains is available either from the internet or from within an Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) using AWS PrivateLink in all AWS Regions where AWS Application Discovery Service is available. To get started, see the ADS user guide.
